I agree with the other commenters–this is a very well written and informative post. It’s interesting how even people aspiring to join the military might be negatively affected by a foreclosure on their record.

I agree, this is a very good post. But for me, if I have to choose between a foreclosure and a short sale, I’d rather prefer a short sale, since it is much less damaging to credit. A foreclosure can cause your credit score to drop.

Neither are good options and I would do everthing in your power to avoid both. Short sale is only a good thing if you are 100% sure that you are facing foreclosure and have nowhere else to turn.
