Augusta Georgia Homes

I Started working some with Crown Homes out in Augusta, GA.  I’m amazed at the value you can get on these homes.  Pricing starts just a little over $50 a square foot, so you can get a 6,000 square foot home in the $300,000 range.  This is unheard of in Atlanta.  The market is pretty strong in Augusta too, mostly due to Fort Gordon military base, plant vogtle nuclear plant and Augusta medical.

Crown Home’s pricing starts in the $140’s and goes well over $300,000.  You get good value with these homes as well.  I’m talking granite counters, stainless appliances, hardwood floors, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and open floor plans.  I think the one thing that is most amazing about their floor plans are the master bedrooms.  They are twice the size of a normal master.   In one of the larger floor plans, the master bedroom is over 800 square feet!

They have several neighborhoods that are close to Fort Gordon, the biggest employer in Augusta.  Willhaven and Granite Hill are two neighborhoods that are less than 1 mile from gate 1.    Most of the people around here are military, so of course we are doing a lot of VA loans in Augusta.  Since VA loans do not have mortgage insurance and right now, they have super low rates, it is cheaper than ever to own a home rather than throwing away money on rent.
